Digital SLR recommendations?
I am looking for recommendations for a digital SLR. I love my point and shoot Casio EX-Z750, but it lacks the flexibility that an SLR offers, and I miss the days of walking around with my SLR, capturing whatever crosses my path. Increasingly, I have been enjoying photography, exploring my visual creativity and visiting new places.
Thanks to several Largehearted Boy readers who have already made suggestions. I especially value your input, having several of you in my Flickr neighborhood. My favorite Toronto music blogger may have swayed me towards Nikon, citing the availability of used lenses, but at the moment, it seems that Canon is still in the mix.
Thanks in advance for your input.

i'm with the rebel xt recommendation. it's a great first DSLR and compatible with many lenses. i also like the way canon's DIGIC II processor handles color balance and levels in program mode.
funny, i have an XT but recently acquired a casio ex-s600 since the SLR is unweildy for an everywhere cam.
I'm a Canon person too. Which is odd because my old school SLR is Nikon. But the DSLR Nikon controls are kind of goofy, the Canon is more intuitive.
