This weekend we plan to work in the garden, pulling tomato plants and planting fall greens and vegetables. This year's garden produced mixed results. Our herb bed continues to thrive, and our greens (lettuces, mustard, kale, and arugula) gave us more than enough salad fixings, but our tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash never took off like in the past. The true stars were the serrano, jalapeno, and banana pepper plants, which flavored wraps, tamales, salads and almost everything else we cooked all summer.
